Festival and competition season will be here before you know it; one of the things I love to do is work with other students and offer an extra set of ears and a different perspective for you as a teacher as you prepare your students for these events. I have helped prepare students for MTNA competitions (including several national finalists who worked with me), ABRSM exams, and preparation for festivals such as NFMC. Think about this as an option! I will give encouraging and positive feedback in my observations. I offer other services for teachers as well!

"I love great music and I love sharing that love with others." This simple statement has become my professional motto and sums up exactly why my career is also an irreplaceable great joy in my life. One of the most rewarding ways to share my love of great music is through teaching. I have been teaching piano either as an independent teacher or at the college level for over 35 years and in the Washington, D.C. area for 21 years. My teaching studio is located in Arlington, Virginia, where I teach students pre-school to adult. Whatever my students wants to achieve -- my goal is to make lifelong music lovers out of them. Another way I share my love of great music is "hands-on" -- that is, performing.   I have been performing as soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative pianist with singers since I was 9 years old; my performances have taken me to some wonderful places such as Weill Hall in Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Orchestra Hall in Chicago, and throughout the United States and Asia. MASTERCLASS TEACHER and TEACHER CONSULTANT

​I enjoy sharing my love of music and my teaching ideas with other teachers -- and I love working with their students as well. I am available for masterclasses either in your studio or I can work with your studio online. I also am available to coach your students in one-on-one lessons for competition or playing exam preparation or just because you would like to have another set of ears. SPEAKER

I also love sharing my ideas about teaching and music with groups of teachers -- or wherever there is a gathering with the opportunity to discuss music. I was still a young teacher living in Michigan when I was first asked to speak to a local music teacher organization. They invited me back two more times, and I discovered that I loved doing these programs! Since I moved to Northern VIrginia, I have given many more presentations and workshops, including for our Virginia Music Teachers Association State Conference as well as for many local music teacher associations all over the state, as well as other clubs, teacher organizations, and talks for non-professional music and arts lovers.
