INVITE ME TO SPEAK to YOUR ORGANIZATION!
Ever since giving my first workshop when I was 29 years old, I have loved sharing my love for great music and teaching with others, whether through masterclasses or as guest speaker for teacher organizations. My engagements have included lectures and workshops for Richmond Music Teachers Association, Roanoke Valley Music Teachers Association, Highlands Music Teachers Association, Peninsula Music Teachers Association, Fairfax-Loudoun Music Fellowship, and Springfield Music Club; I have also given master classes at James Madison University, Springfield Music Club Spring Festival, and for independent teachers in Northern Virginia and Maryland. I have previously been a featured panelist for the Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association and for Virginia Music Teachers Association state conference. Mr. Solero and three of his students were filmed and featured in the ASCD educational video Learning to Think…Thinking to Learn, which was released in 2007. Please contact me directly about speaking to your organization!

Narciso Solero (center), after presenting a workshop in Roanoke, VA, to the Roanoke Valley Music Teachers Association in April 2016. This particular program was his third guest workshop for RVMTA.
What people are saying…
Members of the Roanoke Valley Music Teachers Association were not only fortunate but eager to have Narciso Solero as a presenter not once but for 3 consecutive years. Each year we wanted to hear more and more about his pedagogical insight to teaching. His workshops “Ideas to Keep Your Students Engaged for the Long Haul,” "Technique and Expression: One and the Same," and “Memorizing Music and Teaching Memorization” offered practical teaching tips for our students. His handouts contained many references for our use as well. Collectively the members left each session with a sense of renewed excitement for implementing his many concepts. More than just an excellent musician, Narciso is someone who cares about his students, someone who “inspires” them to be their best, and someone who makes teaching an “event,” not just for his students but for teachers who attend his sessions. -- Roma Scriven, NCTM, Immediate Past- President, Roanoke Valley Music Teachers Association
“Our membership very much appreciated Narciso’s workshop on teaching artistry to the average student. It was well organized and presented. What was most praiseworthy, in my mind, was his choice of subject. Addressing the needs of the average student and seeing every student as capable of artistic playing is a unique pedagogical gem. It helps us teachers to inspire our students not just to “play the piano” but to become pianists. What a difference!” -- Cindy Abernathy, Past-President, Springfield Music Club
"Attending Narciso Solero's workshop "Bridging the Gap from Method Books to Major Repertoire" has really changed the way I teach beginning students. The result of this change has been manifested in more fluid, confident, and all around better reading in ALL my beginners! I would highly recommend this lecture to piano teachers everywhere!" -- Anya Campbell, NCTM, member, Richmond Music Teachers Association
“Narciso's reputation preceded him, and our March meeting was well attended. His program on technique and expression incorporated his teaching experiences, real-life examples, audience participation, and artistry in a delightful program.” Libby McConnell, NCTM, Past-President, Fairfax-Loudoun Music Fellowship
"So many times speakers give few details of their topic; they just give nebulous references and assume their listeners know of what they speak. Narciso Solero, however, was very concrete and very specific with all his answers, speaking with great clarity. I understood what he was talking about and wanted to write down every word because it was so clear. He captured the essence of what a teacher is - making sure his listeners understand his ideas." -- Jeri Bennett, VMTA State Conference panel moderator, Past-President, Northern Virginia Music Teaches Association
”It’s always been my goal to teach musicality and beautiful tone production to all of my piano students, whether they’re blessed with natural talents, or average abilities. Narciso Solero’s lecture to The Richmond Music Teachers Association, “Teaching the Average Student to Sound Like an Artist” was filled with practical and valuable information to attain these results. I’ve found his hand-out to be so useful that I keep it close by the piano for easy reference. Because we in RMTA were so impressed with Narciso’s skill and enthusiasm for sharing his expertise, we’ve invited him to speak to us again this coming year [2008 and 2009], with possibility of his doing a series of lectures for us in the future.” -- Sharon Stewart, NCTM; Past President, RMTA, and Theory Chair, RMTA
"Narciso presented us one of the most informative and practical workshops I have ever attended. [Teaching Artistry to the Average Student] gave us all so many practical and usable ideas that are applicable to any level of student. He also speaks very clearly and articulates so there is no misunderstanding his points. I would recommend him, and we will definitely have him return for a repeat performance!" -- Donna Anderson; Past-Program Chair, Peninsula Music Teachers Association
