"TEACHER to TEACHER"
Have you ever wanted to have another pianist/teacher listen to your students and give you feedback about their playing? Or have you as a teacher wanted fresh ideas about pedagogy, felt the need to take your teaching to a higher level, or even simply talk about teaching in confidence with another teacher to have your ideas affirmed, reaffirmed, or pehaps "tweaked" a little to sharpen them or improve them? You have come to the right place. I love to "teach teachers" one-on-one and I do love to talk. :-)
When I first moved to Northern Virginia in 1997, one of my earliest interactions was with a teacher who invited me to come to her studio and give a masterclass for her students. I was honored to receive the invitation, given that the repertoire I would be hearing that day included a heavy dose of major works by Franz Liszt, Beethoven, and other composers. The kids played wonderfully that Saturday afternoon! Since that time, I have been invited to give in-studio masterclasses in Northern Virginia and Maryland many times and love working with other teachers' students to give those teachers that "extra set of ears" and a different perspective while the students are preparing for recitals, competitions, or playing exams. I can also work with your students in individual lessons -- in your studio, in mine, or online if you are not within driving distance.
Here are some of the ways I have worked with students in this capacity:
Here is what teachers are saying...
“Narciso did wonderful work with my students. He is an excellent teacher with extremely high standards, and he was able to demand the utmost from my students, while at the same time being kind and very patient. All of my students improved their playing during his master classes and beyond, and I too was inspired by his work to follow up both with my students and with my own playing." -- Dr. Audrey Andrist, DMA, The Juilliard School, private teacher, Silver Spring, Maryland
"Narciso Solero was a complete hit with my students. After over five hours working with eight students, no one wanted him to stop. He has given two master classes in my studio and I am having him back again and again. He is articulate, creative, not miserly with tricks-of-the-trade and significant feedback that can help students, and so much fun to listen to and watch! If you believe in magic as an exhilarating medium for stimulating better music from your students, hire Mr. Solero as soon as you can." -- Rebecca Salt; member, VMTA, NVMTA, VFMC, and SMC
What would you like to accomplish?
A number of teachers over the years have contacted me as well for private pedagogy lessons or private study -- often puchasing a short-term group of lessons in preparation for a public performance, for repertoire study, to shore up on technique or establish a technical regimen for their own students, or even to talk ideas: private instruction specifically on teaching, whether it be about artistry and interpretation (these are also the most popular topic requests when I am hired to speak to teacher groups!) or teaching technique or any topic. The choice of topics is up to you!
I am available and willing to work with your students or you in my studio, in your studio or other venue, or online. For online coaching or masterclasses, PayPal is available for tuition payments.
